Since June of 2013 the Got Lunch program has provided meals to 306 children from 139 families residing in Jaffrey and Rindge. In 2019 Got Lunch deliveries were made to cover the week-long school breaks in February, April, December and the 10 weeks of summer vacation. .
Summer 2019 Facts:
- Approximately 130 children from 58 families enrolled in the summer program.
- Over 75 volunteers assisted with: Picking up food from the NH Food Bank, Bagging produce, Bagging the groceries Bagging produce, Delivering the filled bags to the homes of the enrolled families
- 2,222 bags of groceries were delivered. Average bag weight each week was between 25-30 pounds.
- The equivalent of 23,000+ meals were provided.
We extend a special “thank you” to the volunteers and to all individuals, organizations and small businesses who contributed food and financial resources to make this program possible once again this summer.
Non-perishables delivered in the bags included:
- Canned Tuna & Chicken
- Macaroni and Cheese boxes
- Soup
- Ravioli
- Stew
- Spaghetti and Sauce
- Peanut Butter
- Canned Fruit
- Corn and Green Beans
- Protein Bars, Breakfast Bars & Snacks
- Shelf Stable Milk and Chocolate Milk
- Juice Boxes
Perishables included:
- Cheese
- Yogurt
- Apples, Oranges, Grapes, Cherries & Bananas, Mangoes
- Carrots, Celery, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Corn on the Cob
