What We Believe
We believe that our mission and purpose is not just to provide a home for those seeking greater understanding and meaning of the divine, but that our responsibility is to reach out into the community - providing love, understanding, acceptance, and care. It is with this orientation that much of our energy and resources are directed.
We believe that everyone has a place at our table. All are welcome!!
As the founding church for the town of Rindge, we are called to serve our community in faith, love, and joy. It is our belief that in serving our community and bringing neighbors together, we are living into God's greatest commandment to love our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind; and to love our neighbor as ourselves. The First Congregational Church and Society has been serving and caring for the people of Rindge for 250 years, and we will continue to do so for many years to come.
Our Community
As a people of faith, we profess that all creation is valuable and good. We bring the fullness of our time, our talents, and our treasure to work for justice and equality throughout the world. We are dedicated to the protection and care of our environment, to the eradication of hunger and poverty, and to the full recognition of equal opportunity and freedom for all people (regardless of gender, race, and sexual orientation, or class). We long for the day when all of the world can stand united in the love of the Divine and one another.
Our World
In Our Love of God We Serve.....
Who We Are
We are a people of hope...
A people of compassion...
A people of care... and
A people of love.
We are a vibrant multi-generational congregation that comes together to pray, learn, grow, and be transformed in the Spirit of God. All are welcome here! As a congregation we recognize and nurture the gifts we receive from God and we are moved to respond in ways that manifest God's love for us and for all creation. It is out of our relationship with God that we respond by caring for our community, growing together and giving our gifts.
